Our experience at the Mobile World Congress

Between March 2 and 5, Signaturit had the chance to attend the Mobile World Congress for the first time. Our company was among the fifty selected by the Catalan Department of Business and Employment to represent local tech startups in the prestigious gathering of the mobile industry.

After a week of intense sales activity, valuable networking and training, we are very pleased with our presence at the Gran Via exhibition center. With more than 2,000 exhibiting companies and 93,000 visitors, the event boasted keynote speakers such as Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook), Sundar Pichai (Android) and Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia).

From a sales perspective, the congress raised a great opportunity to introduce our electronic signature solution to companies from around the world. In order to be more effective, we also brought our sales team from Amsterdam for the occasion.

Our delegates held 30 meetings with potential customers and gave more than 100 demos that reaffirmed the strength of our value proposition for ICT companies, most of whom need to sign contracts remotely to provide their services.

In this sense, we were particularly pleased with our meetings with delegates from leading telecommunications firms based in countries such as Japan, Saudi Arabia and Singapore, who had the opportunity to see firsthand how Signaturit’s simplicity allows companies to request signatures in any language, regardless of its alphabet.

We also had the chance to meet with software development companies interested in integrating our solution in their platforms, as well as service providers and executives in charge of in-house management software solutions who showed a special interest in our API integration. The congress was also a great opportunity to meet with like minded startups working in fields such as speech recognition, which present interesting synergies with our technology.

Besides our sales efforts, which will require an intense follow-up in the coming weeks, the Mobile World Congress also allowed us to strengthen our reputation and raise our visibility among the authorities and institutions that visited the Catalunya Pavilion.

During the opening day we had the occasion to greet the institutional delegation led by King Felipe VI and the President of the Catalan Government, Artur Mas. A day later, we were able to demonstrate our platform to Sònia Recasens, Second Deputy Mayor of Barcelona, who was joined by the Directors of Barcelona Activa Josep Marquès and Jaume Baró.

We also held highly productive meetings with the Executive Directors of ACCIÓ in New York, Silicon Valley and Berlin. Additionally, the Catalan Ministers of Planning and Sustainability (Santi Vila) and Culture (Ferran Mascarell) also visited our stand.

We would like to thank to the Department of Business and Employment of the Generalitat and to ACCIÓ for the opportunity to participate in the Mobile World Congress, and we look forward to repeat this great experience in 2016.
