Menorquin, an economist with a master's degree in Creating and Managing Innovative Companies and in love with Colombia. This is how we could broadly describe our colleague Manu.
After working at various startups in their early stages, always dealing with the B2B sales side of things, he knocked on the Signaturit door and we kept him. He promised to captivate us with his paella cooking talents and his ability to run a business. He didn’t let us down.
He enjoys driving both businesses and any vehicle that has an engine, so if you want to know more about our phone ace, jump on this interview ride that we are taking you on.

Meet our Legal Department Manager, Edwin Mata
1. How did you discover Signaturit?
I was aware of the company for many years. The truth is that I'm always browsing the websites of different startup accelerators, venture capital funds and news pages about innovations, investments and entrepreneurs. Signaturit appeared in all of them. They must’ve been doing something right!
The first real approach and personal contact was at the Barcelona Activa incubator, when I worked for another startup in the same building. Signaturit was a neighbour and I could see that it didn’t stop growing.
As the product motivated me a lot, I decided to contact the Sales Manager to express my interest and my desire to join the team. After different interviews with my future colleagues, I got the job and here we are, now out of the incubator and in our own new offices.
2. How would you describe your work?
Similar to that of a doctor. Let me explain myself. A potential client has a pain. Sometimes it is found during a routine checkup which my Outbound colleagues do, and on other occasions the client goes straight to the hospital and is dealt with by my Inbound colleagues.
Once the diagnosis has been made, I analyse the different variables that could be causing the problem and I prescribe the best Signaturit solution adapted to the client's needs. My job is to make the client healthy, strong, big and happy.
3. What is the overall purpose of your position?
Understanding the problems that potential clients have in their onboarding processes (signing of documentation, certification of communications and I.D validation) in order to recommend the solution to resolve these problems.
Our services really provide a value to the companies, so my job is gratifying, solving obstacles which many professionals suffer every day in their documents and processes’ management.
4. What do you like most about working in the Sales Department?
Apart from helping the company to grow its volume of business, what I like the most is achieving the clients’ trust, that they take advice. We’d be doing something wrong if it weren’t like that.
5. How is a typical day in Signaturit for you?
My day-to-day job revolves around accompanying the potential client through each of the phases: identifying their problem, offering them a solution and negotiating the terms of the agreement until managing to convert them into a satisfied client.
All of this is achieved through coffee, emails, calls, meetings, product demonstrations, more calls and more emails. The appointment book is filled up which is a good sign.
Between one task and another I eat a bit of fruit in the kitchen or I go out to the terrace for some fresh air, where I’ll take my desk when the good weather is here.
6. What do you value most about working in Signaturit?
All these people make it possible for Signaturit to have the latest technology, with a comfortable design, excellent customer support and service, and a recognized position in the market. All of this creates a strong and trustworthy image which helps us greatly in the sales department.
7. What are your biggest challenges in Signaturit?
In addition to improving the attention and service to all of those interested in our services, my personal goal is to increase the value of the business opportunities which I manage on a daily basis. This project allows me to think big, which motivates me every day.
8. What do you like most about working in such an innovative sector?
On the one hand, I enjoy being part of the change which many traditional companies experience when they get in touch with us and we help them to be efficient in the processes which we take part in.
I am also passionate about being in touch with other startups. That way I can learn about new projects, business models and people that Signaturit can collaborate with and grow with them.
9. What are the characteristics of a Signabuddy for you?
She is a hard-working person, a good, decisive and ambitious colleague. We are a young team and different amongst ourselves, but we are part of a team with common values: to grow and enjoy the process.
10. What would you recommend for future Signabuddies?
Sleep well, eat healthily in order to be able to keep up with our pace. They are many projects and goals to achieve.
