Signabuddies: Ricard Bea, Inside Sales Manager at Signaturit

Our colleague Ricard was born in Barcelona and, as he says himself, he has been lucky enough to grow up in his beloved Catalonia. After graduating in Economics from the University of Barcelona (UB), he did an MBA to get a more business-orientated perspective.

As well as really enjoying winter ski trips, he loves road cycling and touring around rural areas, which he combines with a bit of swimming.

Music of all types, apart from reggaeton lol :), is another of his hobbies. Music is life! He loves going to festivals, live music venues and the like.

Meet our Inside Sales Manager, Ricard Bea

1. How did you discover Signaturit?

I first discovered Signaturit in 2015 when I was working as a salesperson at Clintu, a cleaning services startup which brought in electronic signatures to streamline the contracting process.

In fact, we increased our sales by 20% and improved turnover. We noticed this because Signaturit enables us to monitor contracts and their status, which is key for a sales team.

2. How would you describe your work?

Well, I’d say it was fun because we have new challenges every day and that’s something that I find really exciting. I actually get bored if I don’t have any challenges to take on.

The good thing about working on a project like Signaturit is that we’re constantly making changes to improve our sales team. So we see a lot of new situations and the best thing about it all is that we take part in making decisions, which is absolutely priceless.


3. What is the overall purpose of your position?

My mission is to support the Pre-Sales team. That means helping my colleagues in Market Research (potential client analysis) get the best possible results, as well as the Sales Development Representatives (prospecting).

My main aim is motivating every member of the team to perform as well as they can, and foster teamwork so the group can get excellent results.


4. What have you learned from working in the Sales Department?

Further develop my sales skills, including understanding the people we have on the other side of the table. Finding out what they need and how to provide solutions to their problems.


5. How is a typical day in Signaturit for you?

Really dynamic. First off, I lead a group chat to discuss the previous day and see what plans we have for today. I then have meetings with the various teams to see what strategy we are going to use, we compare the previous week’s results to those from the previous month (A/B Test), we put forward ideas to improve the sales process, and, above all, I provide support to the team if they have any questions.


6. What do you value most about working in Signaturit?

I couldn’t tell you just one reason but if you don’t mind, I’ll give you two.

The first is working with good people, in both personal and professional terms. The most important thing for me is spending my working day surrounded by colleagues I can learn from. I’m fired up when I get to the office in the morning because I know that I’ll learn something new every day and I’ll probably have a good laugh too.

The second thing that I most appreciate about Signaturit is working on such a disruptive project. As any Sales expert knows it is fundamentally important to believe in what you’re selling because if you don’t it makes the job harder. Being able to work on a project that offers help to large companies so that they can reduces costs, increase efficiency, and be more eco-friendly is amazing. I really think this startup has one of the best products in Europe.


7. What are your biggest challenges in Signaturit?

My biggest challenge is making sure all the team meet their targets, keeping them motivated and happy at work. I want them to feel proud to be part of the project.

We also need to be able to effectively analyse the different sales strategies and processes we’re applying. Only if we fully understand the data and results can we make the necessary corrections and improvements to constantly exceed our targets.

8. What do you like most about working in such an innovative sector?

I might be repeating myself, but mainly it is helping large companies to reduce costs, increase efficiency, and use less paper (we’re running out of trees!).

Another good thing is that the IT department is developing new products, such as Blockchain, Smart Contracts, Machine Learning, so I can stay up to date with the most innovative technology that will soon be in everyday use in almost every company.

9. What are the characteristics of a Signabuddy for you?

I would say a Signabuddy is someone who’s motivated and wants to work at one of the best startups in Europe. They’re also aware of the growth potential of a project of this type.

10. What would you recommend for future Signabuddies?

They should have no doubts about applying to Signaturit. They won’t regret joining this project as they will grow both personally and professionally ;-).
